Official says GAZ launches assembly line for GAZ, Ural in Cuba
MONTEVIDEO, Oct 30 (PRIME) – Russian car maker GAZ has launched an assembly line for its GAZ and Ural vehicles in Cuba, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said late on Monday at a meeting of the Russia–Latin America business forum.
“We have visited the launching ceremony of the GAZ and Ural assembly line this morning. We’ve installed assembly sites at Cuban plants to produce vehicles on the territory of Cuba with a certain degree of localization,” he said.
He also expressed hope that the assembly line will produce cars not just to satisfy Cuba’s internal demand, but also for exports to Cuban partners among other Caribbean states.
